Persistence Of Vision was founded in 2003 by Clay Kempf.  The name was inspired by the term known as “the phenomenon known as persistence of vision . . . when images are displayed at 24 frames per second . . . giving the illusion of realtime motion.”

Clay Kempf I started my education at City College Of San Francisco in 1996. 
Their Film/Cinema department had great hands-on production courses and inspired me to move on  with my education.  I transferred to San Francisco State University with my focus on cinematography and graduated in 2002.
